Jimmy Kimmel Joins “No Kings” Protest Against Trump

Over the weekend, Jimmy Kimmel, the late-night talk show host, participated in a “no-kings” protest alongside his parents, expressing his discontent with President Donald Trump’s policies. In an Instagram post, he described the protest as a “huge, inspiring” event, highlighting the involvement of many who care deeply for the country. He seemed genuinely thankful for the Americans who are willing to stand up for their beliefs, remarking, “It’s really just as easy.”

Kimmel wore a shirt with the slogan “makes America better again” during the event, encouraging his followers to join him in this act of dissent.

The protests, dubbed the “No King” demonstrations, took place across the nation. Organizers labeled it a “day of rebellion” against Trump and his supporters. This showed a notable contrast to a military parade in Washington, D.C., commemorating the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army.

Interestingly, some governors issued warnings to protesters, suggesting that any violent behavior would lead to arrests. This added a layer of tension to an event meant to be peaceful.

Kimmel specifically criticized Trump’s choice to deploy the National Guard in Los Angeles to manage unrest triggered by recent Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) actions. He praised the mostly peaceful nature of the demonstrations, calling them a response to what he views as an unnecessary abuse of power from a troubled president.

Other well-known figures who participated in the protests included Glenn Close, Mark Ruffalo, and Susan Sarandon. Ruffalo spoke to MSNBC, labeling Trump a “dictator” and expressing concern about the erosion of constitutional rights. He articulated a sense of urgency for collective action against such governance.

Close also shared her thoughts on social media, emphasizing that the protests were about united resistance. She pointed out that it wasn’t merely about shouting slogans, but rather a demonstration against giving in to an aspiring ruler and his cruel agenda.

The atmosphere at these protests was meant to embody a calm yet powerful stand against perceived tyranny, as many attendees sought a more equitable future for America.
