Jimmy Kimmel’s Show Taken Off the Air Following Controversial Comments

“Jimmy Kimmel Live!” has been pulled from the ABC TV Network indefinitely after the host made contentious remarks regarding the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

Kimmel implied that Tyler Robinson, who was detained for allegedly shooting Kirk, might be linked to President Donald Trump and the “Make America Great Again” movement.

In the show’s opening monologue on Monday, Kimmel remarked, “The Magagang is trying to paint this young individual, who apparently aimed to kill Charlie Kirk, as something other—just to score political points.” He mentioned his sadness over the situation.

Yet, the early evidence seems to indicate that Robinson’s motives were more aligned with his opposition to the LGBTQ agenda. Robinson reportedly had a romantic relationship with a transgender man.

On Wednesday, Nexstar Media Group announced that the show would be replaced on the ABC station it owns, citing Kimmel’s remarks as the reason for the preemption.

“Nexstar strongly disapproves of Kimmel’s recent comments regarding Charlie Kirk’s murder, opting to substitute the show with different programming,” the company’s statement noted.

Shortly thereafter, ABC confirmed it had suspended the show from all its affiliates indefinitely.

Andrew Alford, president of Nexstar Broadcasting Division, labeled Kimmel’s comments as “aggressive and senseless.” He expressed that continuing to air Kimmel’s show wasn’t in the public’s interest and emphasized the importance of fostering respectful dialogue.

Interestingly, Kimmel had claimed back in August that decisions surrounding the “Late Show,” hosted by Trump critic Stephen Colbert, were influenced by the president as well.
