Jo Koy has set his sights on Hollywood with his first stand-up set after his widely criticized performance as host of the 81st Golden Globe Awards.

The 53-year-old comedian has faced backlash for jokes he made while hosting Sunday's awards ceremony, including one that stars in the audience, including Taylor Swift, were clearly not amused by. Ta.

According to Variety, Coy's remarks were met with applause from the St. Louis audience, with one attendee yelling, “Fuck you!”

“Mom, I feel like no one saw it, but I'm kind of happy,'' Koy said. “Oh my God. It feels good to live in this country. You get to say what you want. You don't have to feel sorry about it at all. … You get to say what you think.”

During filming, Coy avoided directly mentioning the Golden Globes by name, but did mention several times the controversy surrounding the ceremony and his hosting performance.

Arriving at the venue an hour late due to bad weather, he joked, “The weather is better in Hollywood, but I'm glad to be in this snowstorm. If it rains, it's pouring.''

According to Variety, Coy touched on a number of topics during her performance, including cultural sensitivity.

“Here in St. Louis, [you’ve got] People who will listen to you, understand you, and understand that we're not trying to attack each other with all our might. That’s stupid in L.A.,” Coy said.

The comedian began talking to attendees and asked, “Do you want me to guess what ethnicity you are?”

During an appearance on ABC's “GMA3: What You Need to Know,” Koy addressed the backlash from the Golden Globe Awards and admitted that he was treated unfairly. “I have the night off.”

“It was fun,” he said. “You know, that was a moment I'll always remember. It's a tough room. It was hard work. I'm not going to lie.
