President Joe Biden has received a COVID-19 vaccination and a flu shot, receiving the double jab, the White House has confirmed.
White House physician Dr. Kevin O’Connor confirmed in a memo that Biden, 80, received both doses of the vaccine on Friday.
O’Connor also said Biden was vaccinated against the respiratory disease known as RSV several weeks ago.
“As we head into cold and flu season, the president encourages all Americans to follow his example and check with their health care professionals and pharmacists to ensure they are vaccinated.” the doctor wrote in the note.
This came just weeks after first lady Jill Biden, 72, contracted the coronavirus. The president tested negative.
Biden tested positive in July 2022 and then tested positive again in a “rebound” case.
The CDC has recommended that all Americans get the latest COVID-19 vaccinations for the winter, as new infections increase due to the latest variant.
Earlier this month, New York state’s top doctor said the number of new coronavirus infections is lower than in previous years.
“We are thrilled to be working with Mount Sinai Downtown,” said Dr. Eric Eiting, associate director of emergency medicine at Mount Sinai Downtown. told NBC News: “Almost everyone I met had really mild symptoms.”
The media reported that the virus is so mild that it is difficult to tell whether a patient has a new coronavirus infection, an allergy, or just a cold.

“The only way we knew it was coronavirus was because we happened to have a test,” Eiting said.
