Recruit Flyer Linked to Political Violence Discovered at Georgetown University

Following the assassination of Charlie Kirk on September 10, a flyer has surfaced at Georgetown University linked to a left-wing gun club known for its association with political violence. The flyer, which provocatively states “Hey fascist! Catch!” references Kirk’s death and echoes a phrase allegedly found on a shell casing connected to his murder, attributed to Tyler Robinson, the accused assailant.

The flyer promotes a community geared toward “ritual resistance and strong language,” and includes a QR code for further information. Shae McInnis, a sophomore and treasurer of the College Republican Club at Georgetown, expressed concern upon discovering the poster. She perceived it as a direct threat, especially towards conservative students, reflecting a hostile environment that stifles political discourse.

McInnis noted that this rhetoric has risen significantly, particularly since the assassination, with some on social media even defending the act. This situation has widened discussions about the safety of conservative voices on campus. The John Brown Gun Club, linked to these incidents, has been documented as a group with far-left tendencies, often appearing at political events under the pretense of safeguarding against right-wing aggression.

In light of ongoing violence against conservative activists, the rise of such flyers isn’t entirely surprising. A recent incident in Texas involved an attack on the Prairiland Detention Center and highlighted rising tensions, where suspects were charged with attempted murder among other crimes.

The flyer situation also revives concerns about what Kirk warned: a “culture of assassination” gaining traction among progressive circles. The John Brown Gun Club, named after a historical figure known for violent anti-slavery actions, seems to symbolize a revival of aggressive politics.

A spokesperson for Georgetown University stated that there is no tolerance for violence or threats, confirming the removal of the flyer and ongoing investigations to ensure campus safety. The university emphasizes a commitment to maintaining a constructive environment, especially amid rising fears among conservative students.
