John Cusack tells Trump to 'go away' during 'No Kings' protest in Chicago

John Cusack Sends Strong Message to Trump During Chicago Protests

During the “No Kings” protests in Chicago, actor John Cusack addressed President Donald Trump directly, telling him to “go to hell” in an interview with CNN this past Saturday.

Cusack emphasized that, interestingly enough, Trump seems oblivious to the fact that the roots of workers’ rights trace back to Chicago. “Even if he believes this city is turning into a fascist hub, that’s just not on the cards,” he stated.

The comments came as part of a broader message from Chicago, specifically from a reporter who added his own colorful sentiment about Trump.

This weekend, protests under the “No Kings” banner took place all over the United States, rallying against the current administration. Cusack, known for his progressive stance, noted that the foundation of the nation didn’t include a monarchy.

“People understand the dynamics at play, right? Authoritarian figures often try to create division, establish a scapegoat, and bully their way into power. That’s part of a greater strategy to enrich themselves,” he commented on the current political climate. “We’re aware of that history. So, yes, that’s what Trump is engaged in, with masked individuals roaming about and getting involved in abductions.”

The “No Kings” movement initially kicked off around President’s Day earlier in the year in reaction to the administration’s actions regarding the Department of Government Efficiency and federal cuts.

It gained significant traction when Trump orchestrated a military parade to mark the 250th anniversary of the U.S. military’s founding, which, amusingly, also happened to coincide with his 79th birthday.

Late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel has even likened the ongoing “No Kings” protests to those that spurred the American Revolution. He supported the rallying cry, stating that it resonates with the ideals of independence that our forebearers fought for.

“There’s nothing more quintessentially American than standing against political oppression. The American Revolution essentially screamed ‘no king,'” Kimmel added.

Protests are expected to take place in numerous cities across the country, reflecting widespread dissent against the current administration.
