John Deere no longer sponsoring 'social or cultural awareness' events

John Deere Announced Thursday The company will no longer sponsor or participate in “social or cultural awareness” events, as some companies are backing away from initiatives that have been criticized by conservatives.

The company policy changes also include reviewing published materials to remove “socially motivated messages.”

The farm equipment maker said the decision was based on customer feedback.

The move represents a shift away from some companies toward diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) efforts, which have become the subject of political firepower in recent years after conservatives criticized them as racist and discriminatory.

John Deere also said that “diversity quotas or pronoun identification have not been and will not be company policy,” but vowed to “track and promote” diversity within the company.

This comes just weeks after Tractor Supply Co., a chain of home improvement and agricultural stores, announced it was scrapping its DEI program and climate goals after weeks of backlash from conservatives.

Criticism of John Deere and Tractor Supply The leader was Conservative activist Robbie Starbuck called the change “another major victory in the fight against wokeness.”
