John Harbaugh gives a passionate reply to Ravens reporter's White House inquiry

Ravens Coach Discusses Trump Visit

During a media session at Ravens training camp, coach John Harbaugh addressed questions regarding his visit to the White House and comments made by President Donald Trump about Baltimore.

Reflecting on Trump’s controversial remarks from 2019, Harbaugh defended his personal experience during the visit. “Why do you frame the question like that?” he responded. “I had the opportunity to visit with the president. Man, how was that experience?” He added with a laugh, “It was amazing. It was amazing. And trust me, I want my president to succeed just as much as I want my quarterback to succeed and my team to succeed.”

Harbaugh acknowledged Trump’s harsh criticisms of Baltimore, where Trump labeled the city as “a corrupt, rodent-infested chaos” and suggested residents “live in hell” in response to remarks made by Congressman Elijah Cummings.

He also shared how honored he felt to attend the White House alongside his family. “It was a great experience. It’s a unique chance to do something like that as a family. My daughter was there, Jim’s daughter was there, and my parents were there. Seeing how President Trump treated my mother really stood out.” Harbaugh recalled his past interactions with different presidents, mentioning, “I’ve met Obama twice, which was an incredible experience,” reflecting on his time spent with him during his vice presidency in Iraq.
