Johnny Damon At TNA Slammiversary: A Family Moment
So, I think I might have mentioned to Johnny Damon’s daughter that professional wrestling isn’t exactly real. But over the weekend, at TNA’s Slammiversary event, his son Ryan Nemez really stepped up during a moment that seemed straight out of a movie.
Baseball legend Johnny Damon was ringside at the event, which took place at UBS Arena on Long Island. Things got a bit intense when Nemez, participating in a tag team match with his brother Nic, found himself facing off with Damon after a bit of back-and-forth banter.
Nemez really tried to engage with Damon, diving in and attempting to keep the action alive. Damon was there shouting back, while his daughter was seen getting animated and even flipping the bird at Nemez as the camera caught the moment. It was kind of an unexpected turn in the whole spectacle.
It’s hard to say if Damon’s daughter really grasped that this was all part of the wrestling show, but it turned out to be a hilariously memorable encounter.
Not only did Damon join in for the action on Sunday, but he also took part in the TNA Slam Softball Classic held the day before on Long Island.
Given that Damon’s brand, A-Game Beverages, recently announced a partnership with TNA Wrestling, his involvement should come as no surprise. TNA executives, being long-time fans of wrestling, seem to be looking for ways to integrate Damon into their events.
Well, it was all quite the experience, don’t you think?
