Johnny Knoxville ignites excitement for 'Jackass' film

Johnny Knoxville Causes a Stir in Simi Valley

This past weekend, Johnny Knoxville created a bit of chaos in Southern California. A “double explosion” event took place outside a dog park in Simi Valley, and local residents were perplexed, thinking a plane had crashed.

In a clip shared online, Knoxville explained, “Apparently, people thought a plane crashed in Simi Valley yesterday.” He added, with a hint of humor, “Little did they know it was due to the huge explosion @jemfxpopov had for us on the last day of shooting @jackass.”

As the sun began to set, thick plumes of smoke rose from the hillside where Big Sky Movie Ranch is located. This location has been the backdrop for several films and TV shows, such as “Little House on the Prairie,” “Gunsmoke,” and “Quantum Leap.”

Knoxville recounted the moment: “We were standing near the explosion and couldn’t believe what we were seeing. Right after, the entire cast went and hugged @jemfxpopov.”

He expressed gratitude to the crew for a safe shoot, saying, “Thank you to Elia and his crew and the rest of the amazing crew for a safe departure yesterday. 26 years, this is it!!” Knoxville also announced that “‘Jackass: The Best and Last’ will be released in theaters on June 26th.”

Since its debut in 2000 on MTV, the Jackass series has generated quite a buzz, spanning three seasons and six feature films, earning its place as a cult classic.

Last year, Knoxville indicated that he may have spoken too soon about the conclusion of the franchise, admitting that the fifth film would indeed be the last. “This is going to be the last time. This is the natural ending place,” he reflected, adding, “So it’s going to be absolutely terrible.”

Looking ahead, Knoxville shared his focus on family life, saying, “Being a father, playing with my crazy dog, playing with my wife, and working a little.”

He has also mentioned that following the fifth film, he doesn’t want to risk further injury, quipping, “(I’m) way beyond concussion,” and noting that he can’t take more hits to the head, though others still can.
