House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana) announced Thursday that House Republicans will investigate the disbanded House Select Committee that investigated the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol.

In response to another New York Post post about Cheney and Thompson, the Louisiana Republican said the president would be “stupid to award lawmakers who have intentionally and repeatedly lied to the American people.” Ta.
“The January 6th task force manipulated and suppressed evidence, all to create a false and false narrative designed to hurt Trump,” Johnson added. “They even hired television producers from legacy media in a desperate attempt to justify what Americans know to be a complete hoax and a complete waste of time.”

In mid-December, Republicans released a report assessing the “failures and politicization” of the Jan. 6 commission and concluded the investigation by recommending a criminal investigation against Cheney.
