House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana) said NATO leaders he met with this week had privately told him they were concerned about Biden and his ability to lead his country.
“You know, all of the NATO leaders are here in Congress,” Johnson told Fox News’ Laura Ingraham on Wednesday night. “We’ve had foreign leaders, including prime ministers and heads of state, coming to Congress and they’ve privately expressed their deep concerns.”
“A weak America is bad for the whole world,” he continued.
Johnson appeared on “The Ingraham Angle” as concerns remain about Biden’s ability to lead the country and defeat former President Trump in this fall’s election.
“It’s unbelievable what’s going on in Congress. Democrats are in complete disarray and don’t know what to do,” Johnson said. “They don’t have a Plan B, but they know they’re in serious trouble.”
In the nearly two weeks since Biden’s poor debate performance sparked panic among Democrats, he and his campaign have been holding rallies and giving interviews in an attempt to win back voters.
The President was speaking at the NATO Summit marking the 75th anniversary of NATO’s founding.
The event was seen as a significant milestone for Biden as domestic and international debate continues to focus on his demeanor and mental acuity.
Biden has sent international support to two wars during his time in office, and he is a key ally to Ukraine, which continues to wage war against Russia.
Biden has also supported Israel and its efforts to defeat the Palestinian militant group Hamas in the Gaza Strip, but has taken a more restrained stance toward the country as the death toll tops 38,000.
As of Wednesday evening, nine House Democrats and one Senate Democrat had publicly called for Biden to withdraw.
Earlier Wednesday, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., urged her colleagues to allow the president to focus on the NATO meeting.
“I told everybody, whatever you’re thinking, just wait and don’t bring it up until you’ve told somebody privately or you see how this week plays out,” Pelosi said.
