When Lady Gaga's mother, Cynthia Germanotta, told her that her daughter had met the man she would marry five years prior, the “Joker: Folie à Deux” star was understandably skeptical.
But after being introduced to businessman Michael Polanski, she quickly realised he was “the missing piece in my life”.
“My mum met him and said, 'I think I've just met your husband' and I said, 'I'm not ready to meet my husband yet!'” the 38-year-old says. she told Vogue magazine. “I never would have imagined that my mother would find the perfect person for me.”
Germanotta met Polanski through her work with Gaga's Born This Way Foundation, and Gaga first met him at Facebook founder Sean Parker's birthday party in 2019. Polanski knew Parker, and Gaga had gone to the event to get to know him.

They ended up talking for three hours. “We had the most amazing conversation,” she told Vogue.
“I didn't know much about her and honestly didn't know what to expect,” Polanski admitted, adding that someone told him the “Just Dance” singer was looking for him as soon as he arrived at the party. “I was immediately struck by her warmth and openness. She was genuinely interested in what my life was like growing up in Minnesota.”
Their love only grew stronger as the pandemic hit, and the two lived together at her home in Malibu.
“I've never met anyone like Michael. He's so smart and so kind,” Gaga said. “His life and mine are completely different. He's a very private person and he's not with me other than because we're compatible with each other.”

She added, “But what I want my fans to know is that I just So I'm happy. I'm healthy.”
“I thought I'd have to do this all by myself. It was really scary. Life is hard. And I don't think anyone really knows what it feels like unless they've been through it. And I don't have to do this alone anymore.”
The “Bad Romance” singer said he felt the last time fans “heard” his voice was on his 2020 album, “Chromatica.”

Gaga had previously been engaged twice, to Chicago Fire actor Taylor Kinney and talent agent Chris Carino, but after splitting with those relationships she feared she would never find her soul mate.

“I thought I had to do this all by myself.Forever” she admitted. “It was really scary. Life is hard. You never know what it's like unless you've been through it. You don't have to do this alone anymore.”
