Jon Berti makes critical error vs. Dodgers after World Series ‘disrespect’

John Berty can't escape the Dodgers.

The former Yankees infielder – who expressed his dissatisfaction with the former Los Angeles team after several important World Series failures – opened the doors for the Dodger Slurry in his first game against the Cubs Tuesday morning.

Berti, who played mainly three bases for the Yankees, got off to Chicago's start with two bases in the opening game of Japan's season.

“I don't know if I've heard of any teams that won the World Series, but I was talking about them as badly as the teams that lost the World Series,” Berty said in February on “Fol Territory.”

“It felt like we were being downplayed to the point that we weren't part of the World Series.”

Berty played five postseason games for the Yankees, heading the Royals and Guardians on their way to the World Series, but left the fall classic roster.

Berti will have a chance to red on Wednesday when Cubs and Dodgers run it for Game 2 of the Tokyo Series.
