CW’s Supergirl Actor Calls for Resignation of Homeland Security Secretary
John Kryer, recognized for his role in Supergirl, has voiced his opinion that U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem should “step down.” This comes after an incident involving Senator Alex Padilla (D-CA), who was handcuffed for rushing into a Homeland Security press conference on Thursday.
Kryer reacted to video footage showing a confrontation between Padilla and security officers while Noem was speaking at the briefing. He stated, “America is an authoritarian state.”
In another post, he emphasized that “Kristi Noem must resign,” responding directly to journalist Stephen Beschloss.
“Kristi Noem must resign.”
Noem, during her appearance on Fox News, explained that Padilla interrupted her press conference and was removed after allegedly failing to identify himself. “This guy rushed into the room and started sprinting towards the podium, interrupting me, yelling. His actions were completely inappropriate,” she stated.
She further mentioned, “If he had requested a meeting, I would have wanted to sit down and have a conversation with him. It’s political theater to attend a press conference like this.”
Editor-in-chief of Breitbart News, Alex Marlow, referred to Padilla’s actions as self-serving, indicating that law enforcement acted within their rights to remove him. He remarked that Padilla was “not wearing Congressional pins” and seemed to be seeking attention.
This isn’t the first time Kryer has expressed controversial views via social media. Earlier this year, he accused former President Donald Trump of terrorism over his attempts to “drain the swamp” in Washington, D.C.
