HUMBLE, Texas — With the U.S. Open starting in five days, Jon Rahm withdrew after six holes at LIV Golf Houston on Saturday because of an infection in his left foot.
Details about the injuries were not immediately released.
During the opening round at Houston Golf Club, he was seen grimacing after hitting a shot.

Rahm, a two-time major champion and former world number one, started with a 69.
He had another low-scoring day, shooting six pars, but decided to stop playing there.
David Puig and Paul Casey are tied for the lead at 10 under after the second round.
Rahm hasn’t won since the 2023 Masters.
He left the PGA Tour in December to join the Saudi Arabia-funded LIV Golf League.
It’s been 14 months since he last won on Tour, but he was the only player to finish in the top 10 in every LIV event this year.

However, the Spaniard got off to a slow start in major tournaments.
He finished tied for 45th at the Masters as the defending champion and missed the cut in a major tournament for the first time in five years at the PGA Championship.
The U.S. Open is being played next week on Pinehurst’s No. 2 course, which Rahm has never played.
