Jon Rahm shares a heartfelt moment with his wife after the $1.5 million PGA Championship disappointment.

On Sunday, John Rahm shared an emotional moment with his wife after the intense final round of the 2025 PGA Championship. Despite aiming for a seventh title, he faced difficulties with bogeys and two double bogeys in the last three holes at Quail Hollow, ultimately missing out on securing his third major championship.

Footage posted on CBS’ social channels shows Rahm, who hasn’t claimed a major since joining the Saudi-backed LIV Golf in late 2023, walking toward his wife, Kelly.

It was a tough finish for the 30-year-old Rahm, who had initially closed in on Victor Schauffele during the fourth round. He managed to tie at 9 under thanks to strong performances at holes 8, 10, and 11.

Unfortunately, he stumbled on the famous green mile at the North Carolina course, missing birdie opportunities at holes 14 and 15.

This slip caused him to drop from a tie for eighth and instead finish tied for eighth, resulting in a payout of $454,781 instead of the $2 million for runner-up.

“The last three holes… it’s tough to deal with right now,” said Rahm. Yet, he noted there were many positive moments during the week and expressed hope for the rest of the season.

The 2021 U.S. Open Champion had hoped to wrap up the Spanish Grand Slam with a win at Quail Hollow.

“I’m the first person to win three majors since Seve (Ballesteros) and the first Spaniard to win three different majors,” he mentioned after a solid 4-under 67 on Saturday had propelled him into the lead.

“It’s hard to describe what that means.”

However, at the end of the weekend, Schauffele finished with a total of 11 under to claim the Wanamaker Trophy on Sunday.

This victory marks Schauffele’s third major title, following wins at the Masters in 2022 and 2024. Meanwhile, Rahm is still searching for his first tournament win of the LIV golf season after signing a reported $300 million contract.

Rahm and Kelly have been married since 2019 and are parents to three children.
