Comedian Jon Stewart commented on a podcast that President Trump and billionaire Elon Musk are collaborating on a show titled “Fame and Fight.” He noted that both have previously supported each other but have now faced a public fallout.
Stewart highlighted the complexity of their relationship, suggesting that it’s challenging for those trying to navigate their powerful connections, given that Musk controls a significant media platform and Trump wields substantial political influence.
Following Stewart’s remarks, Trump expressed disappointment over Musk’s criticisms related to a recent spending bill during a press event.
Minutes after Trump’s statement, Musk took to social media to assert that Trump wouldn’t have won last November’s election without him, implying that Trump is being “ungrateful” for the support he received.
Stewart, who often critiques Trump, remarked that before their public dispute, both were considered significant figures in American politics.
He said, “These two forces have talked about their dynamics, especially before their heated exchanges.” He described them as “violently anti-American and anti-constitutional,” yet he believes they remain a formidable alliance, despite the current pretense in their interactions.
Stewart characterized the connection between Musk and Trump as a “profit-driven alliance,” referencing Musk’s financial contributions to Trump’s campaign and his involvement in governmental projects.
“You can certainly see it,” Stewart added. “There are ambitious plans in motion, like constructing an extravagant ‘golden dome.’ And, of course, which tech company is leading that charge?”
