Jon Stewart was once a so-called “liberal” but is now like others who have abandoned their integrity for “woke” extremism.
“He’s no longer a liberal, he’s just ‘woke,'” Dave Rubin said, introducing a clip of Stewart trying to debunk the Republican Party’s urban crime narrative.
“This is Democrat-sponsored crime. This is one of the right’s favorite talking points, and it’s true not just in Milwaukee but in every city run by a Democrat,” Stewart scoffed. “These cities are crime-ridden dens, life is miserable, and everybody hates everybody.”
“By the way, it turns out that crime is actually going down,” he continued, referring to footage of Lester Holt claiming that the FBI reported that the nation’s violent crime rate has dropped dramatically this year.
“It’s all a misunderstanding, but now that the FBI numbers are out, the right wing media will respond accordingly,” Stewart again mocked, sharing a clip of a Fox News host saying the quality of life in cities remains low, as footage of a car doing doughnuts plays.
“He’s saying the opposite of what he’s trying to say, ‘They’re doing double donuts,’ which is illegal and people can get killed,” Rubin said.
But that’s not all.
Stewart can quote the FBI figures because the vast majority of crimes are never reported to the FBI in the first place.
According to a report by the National Rifle Association’s Institute for Legislative Action, 37% of police departments, including large ones in Chicago, Los Angeles and New York, have stopped reporting crime data to the FBI.
Other jurisdictions, such as Baltimore and Nashville, have found that crime is under-reported or under-counted.
“So, again, we can argue about percentages and whatnot, but we just know that in a Republican-run city, you can’t just run into a CVS and steal all the items,” Rubin said.
