“This feels different because it's a victory for democracy,” he said in the episode that aired Friday. “I think we were prepared for every scenario, but like every scenario, how is Donald Trump going to get back to normal? “And it turns out he used our electoral system as designed,” he added. “At that moment, I thought, oh my gosh, I don't know if we have the legal team for that.”
According to Decision Desk Headquarters/The Hill, Trump won the presidential race with 312 electoral votes, or more than 75 million votes. He is the first Republican presidential candidate to win the popular vote since George W. Bush in 2004.
“We, I, I, have been wrong and will continue to be wrong,” Stewart said on the podcast.
Mr. Trump's decisive victory over Vice President Harris sparked a larger debate about the future of the Democratic Party and what went wrong in the party.
“I still believe in this country, I still believe in individuals, I still believe in change and the power of an organization, goodness and ability. So, fortunately, the Mets made the playoffs.” Stewart said on the podcast.
On Tuesday's “The Daily Show,” Stewart reminded viewers that results aren't everything.
He said that if Trump wins, it will look like “the end of our civilization,” but in reality, Americans will “wake up tomorrow” and “desperate to move the world to where we want it to be.” “I have to work hard,” he said. I hope so. ”
