Beloved comedian, television host and political commentator Jon Stewart is best known for his sarcastic political views on “The Daily Show,” which he hosted until 2015.
Stewart passed on the legacy of The Daily Show to his successor, Trevor Noah, and now he’s back in the saddle as host for Comedy Central.
But that’s not the only reason Stewart’s name has been in the headlines.
In a recently resurfaced interview with Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge, Stewart revealed a more condescending side of himself regarding child genital mutilation, something conservatives like Dave Rubin are not happy about. do not have.
“Why would the state of Arkansas step in and ignore the input of the parents, doctors, psychiatrists and endocrinologists who wrote the guidelines?” Stewart asked Rutledge.
“Well, I think it’s important that for all these doctors, for all these experts, for each patient, there’s an expert who says we don’t need to allow kids to take those drugs.” Mr. Rutledge retorted. Before Stewart could interject, “But you know that’s not true.”
“I don’t know if that’s not true,” Rutledge said, adding that 98 percent of people with gender dysphoria are able to overcome the problem without medical intervention.
“That’s amazing,” Stewart scoffed. “That’s an incredibly fabricated figure.”
“You’re suggesting that protecting children means overriding the recommendations of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the Endocrine Society,” he continued.
Dave Rubin was disgusted by Stewart’s behavior, commenting that he was “completely smug and disgusting.”
“Why is Jon Stewart so smug about chemically castrating children?” he asks.
