It’s not a fetch.
Jonathan Bennett, known for “Mean Girls,” shared on Sunday that his husband, Jaymes Vaughan, is dealing with a Schatzki ring.
Bennett, 44, posted some videos on Instagram showing Vaughan, 42, having his first meal after undergoing treatment for the condition.
“This is the first time I had sat across from him while he enjoyed over 3,400 meals,” Bennett remarked.
“My husband has been living with a condition that made eating nearly impossible for him since adulthood,” Bennett further explained. “Yesterday he had a procedure to open his throat, and this was his first meal after addressing something called a Schatzki ring.”
As Bennett elaborated, the Schatzki ring is essentially “a band of tissue that forms at the lower end of the esophagus, close to where it meets the stomach.”
He mentioned that he wanted to highlight Vaughan’s health struggles, thinking it could help others who might not know the symptoms or even about the condition itself, which had gone undiagnosed for two decades in Vaughan’s case.
“I’ll make sure to talk to my doctor and ask more questions,” he added.
In the video, Vaughan savored an omelet and hash browns, expressing emotion while Bennett recorded him.
“What a god, baby. Is this like when you eat and go down?” Vaughan asked, to which Bennett confirmed, “Yes.”
Support from fans and fellow celebrities filled the comments.
“Amazing! I didn’t realize you were going through that. So happy for you,” former actress Danica McKellar commented.
“This angel deserves the world,” wrote Hunter King, known from “The Young and the Restless.”
Bennett and Vaughan have been together since 2016, having met during an interview on “Celebrity Page.”
Bennett recalled, “When I saw him ready for the interview, I thought he was the most beautiful guy I had ever seen.” He mentioned feeling the need to fix his hair before the interview. “I asked his producer, Jade, if I was about to meet my future husband, and she replied, ‘I think so.’”
The couple got engaged in November 2020 and tied the knot less than two years later at a resort in Mexico.
