Jonathan Isaac Launches Personal Clothing Brand Unitus
While many current and former NBA athletes collaborate with big-name sports brands, Orlando Magic Forward Jonathan Isaac has taken a different route by debuting his own label.
Isaac founded Unitus, a clothing line that champions faith. The brand aims to provide more than just stylish Christian apparel; it seeks to be a “global movement for positive change.”
The mission? To inspire and empower individuals to pursue unity, freedom, strength, and purpose through faith in Jesus. It’s about expressing belief boldly, which is, you know, a pretty compelling angle.
“From the start, the idea was to connect people with Christ and each other, turning it into a real lifeline for believers,” Isaac explained.
Interestingly, he emphasized that the brand’s approach isn’t about imposing beliefs on others. “We’re not pushing it on others; it’s more about personal conviction,” he mentioned. “It’s about wearing reminders of faith—like the Bible represented in your shoes. It’s a way to carry a message with you, even on the court.”
Isaac shared that he felt ‘propelled’ to create his sneaker line after a setback with Nike. “I was signed to them in 2020 but then faced a serious injury… tore my ACL,” he narrated. Nike chose not to renew his contract, which, as you can imagine, was a blow during recovery. Then, a pastor suggested he explore launching his own line instead.
This advice became a catalyst for action; he decided to seize creative control and develop a brand that mirrors what he values. “I had the freedom to create sneakers uniquely my own, which reflect my faith and crucial aspects of my identity,” Isaac said, adding, “My middle name is Judas, by the way.”
Isaac is open about his beliefs, although he acknowledges that discussing them can stir up negative reactions. “I try to minimize my time on social media, especially platforms like X. It can get wild,” he noted. The challenge lies in navigating public opinion while remaining human amidst the critiques. “When you’re in the spotlight, it’s easy for people to forget you have feelings,” he shared.
Isaac participated in 71 games during the 2024-25 NBA season, and fans will soon be able to check out Unitus’ latest activewear line, which launches in early June.
