Jonathan Majors’ ex-girlfriend has filed a lawsuit accusing him of assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, malicious prosecution, and defamation.
Majors, 34, was convicted in December of misdemeanor counts of assault and harassment in connection with a March 2023 altercation with his then-girlfriend, actor and dancer Grace Jabari.
In a civil suit filed Tuesday in Manhattan federal court, Mr. Jabari alleges that Majors “consistently engaged in an escalating pattern of abusive conduct against women starting as early as 2013.” rolling stone.
The lawsuit alleges that Majors subjected Jabari to “an extensive pattern of domestic abuse that began in 2021 and continued through 2023.”
The lawsuit also alleges that Majors “explicitly sought to exploit Grace’s reputation” and “did everything in his power to convince the world that Grace was not a victim of domestic violence, but a deranged liar.” He also claims that he yelled at her, saying, “You’re a liar.” . She is seeking compensatory and punitive damages.
The civil suit comes nearly a year after Majors was arrested in New York on charges of strangling, assaulting and harassing Jabari. He was ultimately convicted of third-degree assault and second-degree harassment. In February, two more women accused Majors of physical and emotional abuse.
Major’s legal team did not respond to requests for comment.
