Former NFL offensive lineman Jonathan Martin claims that the two were with the dolphins, claiming he was bullied by Richie Incognito, who he thought was formerly.
The 2013 scandal shook the NFL community and the secret was stopped.
But almost 12 years later, Martin has set the record straight.
“I didn't believe it was a moment,” Martin said. I recently spoke to ESPN. “That's a story I've been trying to fix for ten years.”
Martin, drafted by dolphins in the second round in 2012, missed multiple practices in 2013, his second season in the NFL.
Subsequent reports revealed that Martin had leapt out of the team's cafeteria as a result of constant bullying by his teammates, and the dolphins were caught up in a bullying controversy.
Isle of the Dolphins paused the secret to “act harmful behaviour to the team.”
The NFL then held lawyer Ted Wells to investigate the case, and the February 14, 2014 report states that two other offensive linemen, Mike Pouncey and John Jerry, were I discovered that I was engaged in Martin's harassment pattern.
The report added that Martin checked himself in the hospital and that his mother had been flying around the country to be with him.
Incognito missed the second half of the 2013-14 season and the entire 2014-15 season due to his suspension, which stems from the incident.
Now, Martin is blaming his parents for escalating the situation beyond what he wanted.
“With my teammates, I was in a situation where I wasn't very happy,” Martin told the outlet. “But my mother was reading about her own situation.”
“I didn't even tell anyone because I didn't even mention the coach,” Martin added. “And all of a sudden it's on ESPN, right? I didn't believe the stance I was taking while filming this victim. I wasn't a victim, right? And again, that's a surprise point. did.
“My mother probably in her mind – I can't read her mind – she thought she was doing the right thing.”
Martin was traded to the 49ers in the offseason after the allegations were revealed.
He played 15 games with the 49ers in 2014-15, but retired from the next offseason after a training camp stint with the Panthers.
Secret played three seasons with the team before his suspension was lifted, signed with the bill and spent two years with the Raiders.
He responded to Martin's recent comments on X on Sunday.
“Well… well… well…”, secret I wrote it in one post.
“Made by Jonathan Martin's mother and father!” I wrote it in another post.
“He couldn't cut it in the NFL, so he quit and his mom blamed me.” Added to the third post. “Legacy Media pushed this story long and far. Unfortunately, it was all a lie! They lied to protect his money. He quit… the team gave up on that money. Had all the rights to take it back. His mom started a bullying story on @ESPN @AdamSchefter so @Miamidolphins won't chase his signature bonus!”
Martin's mother, Jane, refused to talk to ESPN, but her father, Gus did.
“His mom and I intervened strongly,” Gus Martin told the outlet. “To make sure he is protected.”
Gus Martin defended his and Jane's decision to intervene, and was allegedly left by his son at the time by playing a voicemail secret.
“Hey wassup, you half-n – r fue of s-t,” Incognit is said to have said in his message. “I saw you on Twitter. You've been training for 10 weeks. I'm s-t in your f-mouth. I'm going to slap your f-mouth – mouth, I'm your I'm going to slap my real mother in the face [laughter]. f — k You, you are still a rookie. I'll kill you. ”
The incident strained Martin's relationship with his parents, but he says they've reconciled.
