Rafael Devers must call the MIT scientist to get one of those torpedo bats.
The Red Sox's third bass man-turned designated hitter is 16-0 with 12 strikeouts to start the season, with the panic alarm already being sounded by some of the people around the team.
The legendary Boston Closer and NESN Studio analyst Jonathan Papelbon questioned the state of the slugger coming into the season on the Red Sox post-game show.
“perhaps [Rafael Devers] Papelbon said. Pig crying… You cut fat, and pigs crying. That's what you're looking for – your pigs will squeal. They hit a home run. ”
“perhaps [Rafael Devers] The shape is gone… maybe we have to trim a little fat… do you know what happens when you trim fat? Pig crying… You cut fat, and pigs crying. That's what you're looking for – your pigs will squeal. They hit a home run. ” – Jonathan Papelbon

Boston Globe Red Sox Reporter Gabriel Star Papelbon's mention of making “pig cries” to X was the way to say, “Bats make a fuss.”
Papelbon also added that Devers' front paws are coming off late, speculating that he is not ready to hit when he gets into the batter's box, and that he is behind on fastballs.
Boston went 1-3 in their first series with the Rangers, with the Yankees showing off their almost unprecedented power numbers heading into the dominant series sweep of the NL Central Champion Brewers.
Devers was one of the best batsmen in baseball in his eight-year career in Boston, but it was a controversial spring training after the Red Sox signed to take over the third base hand Alex Bregman in Gold Gloves at 3 base.
Devers initially refused to give up on a manned position for most of his career, but ultimately agreed to play the role of a designated batsman.
“3 base is my position. That's what I played,” Devers told reporters on February 17th.
The 6-foot old man weighed at 245 points this spring, a slight increase compared to the past few years, between 235 and 237 pounds since 2019.
Devers may be out of shape as the Red Sox have missed most of their training camp with a shoulder injury, starting this season and they are struggling to find footing.
The Red Sox will open a 3-game series with the Orioles on Monday.
