Jordan Childs’ frustration turned to jubilation on Monday when she reached the podium in the final women’s gymnastics event at the Paris Olympics.
Chiles finished with a score of 13.666, but an investigation was launched into her score, and just as Romania’s Ana Barbos began to celebrate thinking she had won the bronze medal, the judges announced a change to Chiles’ score.

Chiles moved from sixth place to the podium with a score of 13.766.
Chiles broke down in tears as she embraced Simone Biles, while her parents and Olympic teammates watched from the stands and were also overcome with emotion.
This is Chile’s first individual medal as an Olympic athlete.

Although Biles failed to reach the podium on the balance beam, she did win a silver medal, winning four medals in Paris, including three golds, and returning to the world stage after struggling on the balance beam at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.
Barbos and her Romanian compatriot Sabrina Maneca Boinea finished outside the top 5. Barbos had just begun to celebrate her podium finish when she learned Chile had won the bronze medal.
Barbos was stunned.
Brazil’s Rebeca Andrade won the gold medal with 14.166 points, her second Olympic gold medal and fourth overall in Paris.

Andrade won silver medals in the individual all-around and vault finals, and a bronze medal in the team event.
