Jordon Hudson criticizes Hall of Fame following Bill Belichick's omission

Bill Belichick’s Hall of Fame Snub Sparks Frustration

In light of the surprising news that Bill Belichick, at 73, was not inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame during his first year of eligibility, his girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, voiced her disappointment through an Instagram post on Tuesday evening.

She shared a screenshot of an email indicating that her order for three Hall of Fame patches had been canceled. In her post, she amusingly questioned, “What is a ‘contingency’?” along with some laughing emojis.

Belichick, who is an eight-time Super Bowl champion, fell short of the necessary 40 votes needed for enshrinement, receiving only 10 out of 50. The voting panel’s decision, which included experienced NFL reporters and officials such as former Colts general manager Bill Polian, has prompted a backlash throughout the league. Notably, figures like Patrick Mahomes, Jimmie Johnson, and Belichick’s former quarterback, Tom Brady, have expressed their discontent.

Tom Brady, on a radio appearance, criticized the snub, saying, “I don’t understand it. If he’s not a first-ballot Hall of Famer, then, honestly, who is? It’s just ridiculous.” He continued, emphasizing his admiration, stating that if he needed to pick a coach to win a Super Bowl, it would still be Belichick.

During their two decades together in New England, Brady and Belichick secured six championships. Since then, they have taken different paths; Brady has transitioned to broadcasting while Belichick now coaches at the college level, specifically with the Tar Heels.

This season was Belichick’s inaugural year coaching in college football, and UNC ended the season with four wins and eight losses. Hudson captured attention while supporting him throughout this transition as their relationship became public in 2024.
