During the ACC Spring Meeting, Bill Belichick, the new UNC Football coach, spoke to ESPN, and of course, his relationship with 24-year-old Jordon Hudson was a hot topic.
The 73-year-old coach briefly discussed his new venture in college football while touching on his personal life with Hudson, who was previously a college cheerleader.
Belichick emphasized that their relationship is private, saying, “It’s really on the side. It’s a personal relationship. She has nothing to do with UNC football,” expressing his excitement to participate in the coaches’ meeting.
After a long career with the Patriots, where he secured six Super Bowl wins, Belichick has faced some recent controversy, particularly regarding his new book, The Art of Winny, and his previous appearance on CBS last month.
When the interview shifted to Hudson, she quickly deflected, stating, “We’re not talking about this,” in response.
Interesting to note, Hudson was seen on a plane with Belichick and contestants from Miss Maine USA in 2021, which was a few years before they publicly acknowledged their relationship.
Since Belichick’s appointment as coach last December, Hudson has been visibly involved in the program, even appearing on the field during spring practice.
However, recent rumors suggest she might be restricted from accessing UNC facilities. The university issued a statement clarifying, “While Jordon Hudson is not an employee of the University or Carolina Athletics, we welcome her to Carolina soccer facilities. She will continue to manage activities related to Coach Belichick’s personal brands, separate from Carolina football and university responsibilities.”
Earlier this year, Belichick signed a five-year contract worth $50 million with the Tar Heels. Despite this, discussions about his relationship have sparked scrutiny related to the acquisition clause that takes effect on June 1st.
It’s worth mentioning that UNC hasn’t claimed a championship title since 1980.
