Kelly Stafford recently pointed out how “dramatic as hell” the sports world is, particularly in light of discussions around UNC football coach Bill Belichick and his 24-year-old girlfriend, Jordon Hudson.
On her latest episode of the Morning Morning Podcast, Stafford agreed with her co-host, Hank Winchester, who described it as “unacceptable” for Hudson to interrupt Belichick’s recent interview on “CBS Sunday Morning.”
Despite this, Stafford felt that the topic was “fair game,” considering the public nature of Hudson and Belichick’s relationship, which has been visible on social media.
“You don’t usually see Belichick on social media, and now he’s all over it with her,” Stafford, who is 35, noted. “So, there’s a responsibility to acknowledge that these questions arise because they’re so public.”
“Honestly, I don’t mind it. I think it’s fair game. If she’s uncomfortable discussing it, then they can choose not to. Everything feels pretty intertwined to me.”
“I mean, the drama in sports is just off the charts right now. I think we all get that these athletes aren’t just athletes. But they are still athletes,” Stafford said.
“Why is it all so dramatic?”
Belichick and Hudson became the focal point of a media storm after Hudson disrupted their “CBS Sunday Morning” interview that aired on April 27.
A former cheerleader from Bridgewater State stopped Belichick from addressing questions about CBS’s Tony Docpile. This incident went viral, with rumors suggesting that Hudson is excessively involved in Belichick’s professional life.
In a statement released with UNC, Belichick clarified that Hudson “does work” and isn’t trying to control his CBS interview, emphasizing that the topic revolves around his new book, *The Art of Winning: My Life in Football.*
The former NFL coach has not confirmed whether Hudson works for the university.
During the podcast, Kelly also touched on the 2025 NFL Draft, which happened in Green Bay the previous week, specifically mentioning Cheddur Sanders.
“The entire draft was a spectacle. It reminded me of ‘90210,’ with all the side stories,” she commented.
She went on to discuss the drama involving the Eagles and their visit to the White House following their Super Bowl win against the Chiefs, mentioning how social media users chimed in when Jalen skipped the event.
“I know social media has played a huge role because it’s like everyone knows everyone’s business now,” Kelly remarked.
