Joseph Duggar, a reality TV personality known for his role in “19 Kids and Counting,” appeared disheveled in a mug shot after being arrested on charges of sexual abuse involving a 9-year-old girl. This comes five years after his brother Josh was taken into custody for child pornography.
In a booking photo from his arrest in Arkansas on Wednesday, the 31-year-old father of three looked unkempt, with thinning hair and stubbled facial hair. He faces serious charges that include committing lewd acts with a child under 12, as well as inappropriate conduct with an adult, according to reports from the Bay County Sheriff’s Office.
The girl, now 14, claims that Duggar abused her in Panama City Beach, Florida, back in 2020—just a year before Josh’s own legal troubles began. It’s alleged that he encouraged her to sit on his lap and then touched her inappropriately while they were supposedly under a blanket.
Interestingly, the accuser’s father confronted Duggar recently, which led to Duggar’s admission of guilt to both the father and the authorities during questioning.
Duggar tied the knot with Kendra Caldwell in 2017, and the couple shares three children: Garrett, Addison, and Brooklyn.
This family has faced numerous scandals over the years. Josh, for instance, was previously convicted of sexually abusing a minor and is currently serving a 12-year prison sentence for his child pornography charges.
