Amy Duggar King has expressed her thoughts following the arrest of her cousin Joseph Duggar, criticizing what she termed the Duggar family’s “toxic system” that promotes secrecy. “I think there are numerous victims in this entire situation as this cycle of toxicity continues,” the 39-year-old shared, highlighting how such a system fosters secrecy, dishonesty, and heartbreak. She believes that the truth is finally surfacing, stating, “I don’t think people are willing to tolerate it anymore. The rug has been lifted.”

Joseph, aged 31, was arrested in Tontitown, Arkansas, alongside his family on March 18. He faces charges of lewd acts with a child under 12, according to an arrest affidavit from the Bay County Sheriff’s Office in Florida. His wife, Kendra Duggar, 27, has also been charged with multiple counts, including endangering a minor and false imprisonment. Joseph has pleaded not guilty and is set to appear in court again soon.

The allegations come nearly five years after Joseph’s brother, Josh Duggar, was found guilty of similar charges related to child sexual abuse images, which led to the cancellation of their family reality show, “19 Kids and Counting.” Amy’s memoir, “Holy Disruptor,” delves into the family’s turbulent history and her own experiences, highlighting abuse that she claims went unaddressed for far too long.
