It wasn’t a great night for the Bills.
Buffalo suffered a 23-19 defeat to the Texans, plagued by injuries, numerous turnovers, and a failure to convert on a crucial 4th-and-27 late in the fourth quarter.
Quarterback Josh Allen seemed to encapsulate the team’s struggles, visibly frustrated after a drive faltered.
This nine-play drive had pushed deep into the Texans’ territory but stalled after five consecutive runs to James Cook III.
The drive ended in disappointment with a 2-yard loss on a 4th-and-1 from the Texans’ 23-yard line.
Following this, an exasperated Allen, on the sideline, appeared to express his discontent toward backup quarterback Mitchell Trubisky, seemingly mouthing, “What are we doing?”
Throughout the game, Allen’s performance was restrained, completing 24 of 34 passes for 253 yards and two interceptions.
Yet, the Bills still had a glimmer of hope in the dying minutes, thanks to a 44-yard hook-and-ladder play and a surprising 4th-and-27 conversion.
In that play, Josh Palmer caught a pass from Allen for 11 yards before lateraling the ball to Khalil Shaquille, who made a 33-yard run.
However, just four plays later, on a 4th-and-6, Allen threw his second interception of the evening, pretty much sealing the game.
Now sitting at 7-4, the Bills are falling further behind the Patriots at 9-2 in the AFC East.
Meanwhile, the Texans have moved to a record of 6-5.
