Josh Allen Prepares for Game with Special Visor
Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is ready to take more than just a hit. He’s considering wearing a clear visor during the game after injuring his nose in a 30-10 win over the New York Jets. This incident unfolded during their match against the Miami Dolphins on “Thursday Night Football.”
“We’ll see how it goes. Maybe we’re just trying to get used to it during the game,” Allen mentioned in practice.
The 29-year-old player fell awkwardly on his face late in the first quarter at MetLife Stadium, causing a quick visit to the sidelines due to bleeding from his nose.
After missing a couple of plays, he returned to complete 14 of 25 passes for 148 yards, keeping the game out of reach for the Jets.
His nose looked pretty bruised and swollen afterward, but Allen reassured, “it’s good because you can breathe.” Coach Sean McDermott chimed in, joking, “His nose wasn’t getting bigger; it looks good to me. We’re in a good space here.”
Over the past few days, the swelling has been reducing, and while he still feels some discomfort, Allen is expected to push through. He has occasionally practiced with a visor but will debut it in an actual NFL game this Thursday.
Detailing his injury, right tackle Spencer Brown humorously noted that Allen now resembles a defensive end. Allen laughed along, claiming he’s “the third bossa brother in the league.”
So far, Allen has led the Bills to a strong 2-0 start, which includes an impressive comeback victory over the Baltimore Ravens, where he threw for over 250 yards and had three touchdowns in the crucial fourth quarter.
