Josh Charles Talks Travis Kelce on Fallon
During a recent visit to “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” actor Josh Charles discussed his cameo in Taylor Swift’s upcoming “Fortnite” music video, where he met Swift’s fiancé, Travis Kelce.
When Fallon brought up the rumored “fight” between Charles and Kelce, the 54-year-old actor shared his thoughts. He remarked on the Ravens’ last playoff clash with the Chiefs in the 2024 Super Bowl, recalling how he had distanced himself from Kelce after the Chiefs beat his team in the AFC Championship Game.
“No, it wasn’t a fight,” Charles clarified. “I’ve always liked Travis. But when he was at his worst the year they beat us, I felt the need to step back. So when we finally met, I said something along the lines of, ‘I used to think you were cool, but this year, you were… well, not so much,’” he remembered, using a not-so-flattering term to describe Kelce’s performance.
Fallon seemed surprised, asking, “Did you really say that to him?” Charles confirmed that Kelce laughed it off.
Kelce then shared his side, explaining, “That game against your team was critical for us. It shaped our approach.” He stressed that he had to come with a bit of swagger, which, interestingly enough, proved to be helpful in that matchup.
In a pregame incident before the Chiefs triumphed over the Ravens, Kelce had tussled with Baltimore kicker Justin Tucker, a moment that added some drama to the atmosphere. Kelce ended up parting ways with the team after facing serious allegations in 2025.
As the Chiefs sealed their victory, Kelce celebrated on the sidelines with Swift, recording impressive stats with 11 catches for 116 yards and a touchdown during that game.
Just weeks later, in February 2024, they shared another joyful moment when Kansas City claimed its second consecutive Super Bowl title against San Francisco.
Charles mentioned that during their conversation, Kelce came off as a genuinely nice person, and they exchanged insights about the game.
However, with both teams failing to make the playoffs this year, Kelce is now at a crossroads regarding his NFL career. He hasn’t yet decided if he’ll return for a 14th season. During an interview, he hinted that making that choice might take time, saying, “Sometimes the decision comes fast; other times, it doesn’t.” Adding a bit of reflection, he mentioned last year’s choice felt clearer to him.
The Chiefs wrapped up the season with a record of 6 wins and 11 losses.
