Summer league isn’t just for rookies who need experience before the long NBA regular season, it’s also for young players who have been bouncing around on rosters or playing in the G League and now have a chance to catch the eye of scouts.
Miami Heat guard Josh Christopher falls into the latter category after spending two seasons with Houston and one in the G League with the Salt Lake City Stars.Utah Jazz Christopher, who signed with the Miami Heat affiliate Sioux Falls Skyforce and made a name for himself in summer league, could be on Miami’s two-way roster. That could happen thanks to games like Monday’s win over the Thunder, when Christopher had a big fourth quarter, scoring 20 of his 23 points in the period to help the Heat win.

The highlights were just as impressive as the overall numbers: a 3-pointer off the dribble, a contested jump shot and two Kodak moments, two posters that dazzled Thunder players, marked his performance on Monday.
Zion Pruin Dru Smith is currently on a two-way contract with the Heat, and Christopher has at least made a point on that point. This is one of the most impressive Summer League scoring grabs we’ve seen so far.
Christopher has grown as a player since being drafted by Houston, and that could lead to him making Miami’s roster.
