Josh Flagg Purchases Luxury Home in East Hampton
Josh Flagg has recently added another stunning property to his collection, this time in the upscale George Ca area of East Hampton. After just a week of consideration, he went ahead and bought a newly constructed six-bedroom home.
The “Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles” star, along with his childhood friend and business partner Justin Runeberg, purchased the home for $8.45 million, plus an additional $150,000 for furniture, bringing the total price to $8.6 million.
This property was initially listed at $10.85 million last year and was later reduced to $9.15 million before the sale concluded on Friday.
The residence, spanning 4,400 square feet, was designed by Brian Glasser and built by Phil Kaufman, with development by Robert Zecher’s Vault Development Partners. Features include a spacious 1,500-square-foot covered outdoor terrace and balcony, along with a pool, a poolhouse, and a garage.
Inside, you’ll discover an impressive great room that opens up to a porch through a 38-foot accordion glass door. There’s also a fireplace, automated screens, and an outdoor kitchen—all of which add a nice touch.
The kitchen is designed for culinary enthusiasts, complete with a prep area outside the main dining space, and a junior primary suite is conveniently located on the first floor. Meanwhile, the second-floor main bedroom has its own private balcony, and the basement includes a rec room with built-in wine storage, along with two additional rooms and laundry facilities.
The listing brokers for this property were Martha Gandersen and Paul Brennan of Douglas Elliman.
Interestingly, before Flagg and Runeberg struck a deal in early August, the home was rented out by David Zander, a producer based in Los Angeles.
Zander, who co-founded the production company MJZ—known for its work in music videos, commercials, and films—was recently in the news after selling a prominent East Hampton estate to designer Tom Ford for $52 million in 2023. Earlier this year, he made headlines again after purchasing a former mansion owned by Ross Stewart for $57 million.
While Zander has not commented on the sale, Flagg seems eager to put his personal touch on the Hamptons property. Reports indicate that he intends to renovate it, aiming to give it a more traditional feel, or perhaps just some character, as noted by a friend who mentioned the property deserves the soul of something much older.
This acquisition comes shortly after Flagg’s deal with Flagg Family Capital and a real estate purchase on Mercer Street in Soho, which was finalized last Christmas Eve.
It’s still uncertain whether Flagg plans to reside in this home or focus on it as an investment. Prior to the purchase, he had rented the property for some time in Sagaponac.
