Josh Giddey’s halfcourt shot lifts Bulls over Lakers in NBA’s most improbable buzzer-beater this year

The Chicago Bulls are quietly transforming into one of the hottest teams at the Eastern Conference. The Bulls took part in a matchup on Thursday night Los Angeles Lakers The final 10 games 8-2 spurred Coby White and Josh Giddey's recent hot streak. The Bulls lost 146 points last weekend in a victory over the Lakers. The rematch proved even more memorable.

Chicago was up for most of the first half before the Lakers retreated in the third quarter to take a 16-point lead in the final frame. Los Angeles looked to go to the Coast with an easy victory for most of the fourth quarter, but suddenly the Bulls woke up and somehow stole another victory.

The Lakers took a five-point lead in 12 seconds after Austin Reeves knocked down a pair of free throws. The Bulls sucked in the ball half court, swinging the ball into the corner, and Patrick Williams knocked down a three-pointer. Josh Giddy stole an inbound pass and hit Coby White. Coby filled three more. The Lakers called the timeout and answered with a bucket as Reeves hit a go-ahead shot with about three seconds left. With no timeouts remaining, the Bulls had to go court length for a chance to win the game.

Giddie rose from the half court and ran out of shots. The Bulls win, 119-117. Check out Giddey's Halfcourt Buzzer-Beater:

Giddey finished with 25 points, 14 rebounds, 11 assists and two steels. He said after the match this was the first buzzer beater of his life. How to get it.

The fact that the Buzzers had a shot to win the game with the Buzzer looked incredibly unlikely just seconds ago. Chicago needed a lot to set up Giddy's Heave with Williams Corner 3, Giddy's Steel and White temporarily putting the Bulls forward.

The Bulls improve to 33-40 with a win. If the season ends today, they will be the ninth place seed in the East, holding a 9-10 play-in game and defeating the losers of the No. 7 vs. No. 8 play-in game to make the playoffs.

No one wants to see Chicago right now. The Bulls played very fast, Jack was 3 tons and ran a tattered team regularly in the fourth quarter. It was another mediocre season for the Bulls, but the way young cores have recently come together provided some reason for optimism for the first time in years.
