Josh Hart Draws Parallels Between Argentina and Knicks
Josh Hart never fails to bring a smile with his humor. After Argentina’s stunning 2-1 victory over England in the World Cup semifinals, he took to social media to make an amusing comparison. He likened Argentina’s tenacity to that of the New York Knicks, perhaps noting their shared ability to mount comebacks.
Hart tweeted, “Argentina=Knicks.” It’s a clever nod that certainly resonates with sports fans.
In that intense match, England was in the lead until the 85th minute when Enzo Fernandes found the net from outside the box to level the score. Then, with just moments to spare, substitute Lautaro Martinez headed in a goal to give Argentina the win, prompting Hart to react with enthusiasm.
Yet, surprisingly, this wasn’t even Argentina’s most notable comeback in the tournament. In the round of 16 against Egypt, they found themselves down 2-0 late in the game, only to score three quick goals to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. Lionel Messi, who famously led Argentina to victory in the 2022 World Cup, played a pivotal role by scoring the equalizer.
On the basketball side, the Knicks showed off their comeback skills during the NBA playoffs, claiming their first championship since 1973. They faced a tough start against the Hawks in the first round but rallied in the concluding games, even claiming a win by 50 points in Game 6. In the Eastern Conference Finals against the Cavaliers, they staged an impressive comeback from a 93-71 deficit to win the game in overtime.
One of the most remarkable moments was their Game 4 win in the NBA Finals, where they overcame a 29-point deficit to defeat the Spurs—a truly historic triumph.
Hart, a known Chelsea supporter, hasn’t been shy about sharing his thoughts during this World Cup. He made quite the statement at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium, donning a Three Lions jersey while playfully mimicking LeBron James’ famous “I can’t believe this is my life” meme.
While basketball and soccer have their differences, both Argentina and the Knicks exemplify the spirit of resilience, showing that even when it seems like all is lost, victory can still be within reach.
