Josh Hart Ejected in Preseason Game Against 76ers
In a recent preseason matchup in Abu Dhabi, New York Knicks star Josh Hart was ejected from the game against the Philadelphia 76ers. Unfortunately, he sustained an injury during the incident.
It all happened when Hart was vying for a rebound in the second quarter. During the play, 76ers guard Kennedy Chandler inadvertently obstructed Hart’s path, causing him to fall to the floor in visible pain. The game continued, and Chandler attempted to get the ball from Hart’s grasp, resulting in a jump ball. Hart, clearly frustrated, reacted by throwing the ball into the stands.
After this outburst, Hart was escorted off the court and headed to the locker room for evaluation. Clarifying the situation, it turned out that his exit was due to a technical foul related to his action of launching the ball rather than a physical injury.
Despite his brief appearance, Hart contributed two points, three rebounds, and over seven minutes of playtime in assists. Known for his stamina, he averaged nearly 38 minutes per game last season under coach Tom Thibodeau, a mark that led the entire NBA.
With Thibodeau stepping down and new coach Mike Brown taking the reins, he opted to start big players like Karl Anthony Towns and Mitchell Robinson. Hart had previously enjoyed significant playtime and impressive stats during the last season, averaging 13.6 points, 9.6 rebounds, and shooting 52.5% from the field.
It’s going to be interesting to see how Coach Brown will manage Hart’s role moving forward, especially with the Knicks’ expectations for longer playtime among starters like Towns and Jalen Brunson.
