Josh Hart gave yet another yeoman’s effort, playing the entire game, including the five minutes of overtime, for the second time in this series.
But Hart played the full 53 minutes on the court and nearly completed a triple-double before making two free throws that would have given the Knicks a four-point lead and helped the Sixers with 15.1 seconds left in the fourth quarter. I lamented that I had missed one. They won 112-106 in overtime, tying the score and surviving in the series.
“That’s all that really matters right now. We’re missing here and there, we’re missing shots here and there, we’re missing free throws here and there, so we’ve got to make sure we’re mentally sharp,” Hart said in the fifth. He spoke after the defeat in the war. “I missed the free throw with less than 10 seconds left? And if we can do both, we win.
“So, you [have to] You know what the situation is and you have to accept what happened and make sure it doesn’t happen again. ”
Jalen Brunson also missed a crucial technical free throw late in overtime due to a flagrant foul on Joel Embiid, and the All-Star point guard committed a turnover, leaving the Knicks trailing by two points late in overtime.
“very [disappointing]. That was a game we should have won,” Hart said.
Hart performed well throughout the series, recording 18 points, nine rebounds, and four assists in Game 5.
In the series, he averaged 17.0 points, 12.0 boards, and 4.0 assists in 46.4 minutes per game.
He played the full 48 minutes in Game 2 and played at least 42 minutes in each of the five games.
“Yeah, just a lot of icing, cold tubs, soft tissue work. And then it’s just a matter of getting shots,” Hart said Wednesday before the series returns to Philadelphia for Game 6 on Thursday night. He talked about his time off. “The mindset is to win. I don’t think that will change anything.
“Nothing has changed in terms of how I prepare or my goals. It’s the same.”
