Former National League rivals and current Yankees teammates Juan Soto and Marcus Stroman may have a new move together that they can show off in the Bronx this year.
After the Yankees agreed to a two-year deal with Stroman on Thursday, Soto, who was also acquired by the Bombers this offseason, said on Instagram that he has plans to be teammates soon.
They can now “shuffle together”.
Soto, a three-time All-Star, is well known for shuffling when taking the ball away from opposing pitchers in the batter's box.
Now, during the Cubs-Padres game on June 4 last season, Stroman, then a pitcher in Chicago, struck out Soto for a pitch that just hit the bottom of the zone.
The pitcher became very active, striking out the Silver Slugger four times, then walking toward the left side of the mound and doing his own shuffle.
Soto playfully nodded, impressed by Strowman.
So when MLB Network reshared the moment on Instagram Thursday night, Soto had plans for the two.
“We shuffle together now,” he wrote, including three crying-laugh and handshake emojis each.
Stroman also responded on her Instagram Story, writing, “Mi hermano,” and tagging Soto's account.
The 2023 All-Star pitcher no longer has to face Soto after the 2018 National League Rookie of the Year hit .300 with a home run, double and four walks in 14 at-bats with starting pitchers. You might be happy about that.

The home run coincidentally occurred in New York on August 9, 2019, when Stroman made his Citi Field debut with the Mets after being traded by the Blue Jays.
A powerful hitter with an OPS of .946 and a stable pitcher with an ERA of 3.65 will join forces in another district of the Big Apple.
Superstar outfielder Soto and the Yankees have agreed to a $31 million annual salary in 2024, the Post's Joel Sherman reports.
