Earlier this week, there were reports that the Yankees were “unfazed” about offering Soto a suite at Yankee Stadium, and Yankees general manager Brian Cashman seems to have all but confirmed that. But the Mets gave Soto a suite.
of new york post In addition to the suite, Soto will have four premium seats for home games and will keep him and his family safe both at home and on the go, he said.
His jersey number was also an issue.
Since making his MLB debut in 2018, Soto has worn No. 22 with the Nationals, Padres and Yankees. He intends to do the same with the Mets, and it's part of his contract, the Post notes.

NHL could hold outdoor games in unlikely locations next season: Report
Brett Batty has worn this number with the Mets since 2022. It's common for star players joining a new team to give expensive gifts to players who wore their desired number. It's unclear if Soto is giving Batty anything.
In any case, Batty has no choice in the matter.
The Yankees said the reported 2016 offer of $760 million is “beyond our comfort level.” Cashman also noted that “some of the high-end companies that make us a lot of money, if they want a suite, they'll buy it.”
But Cashman said the Yankees' reluctance to give Soto a complementary suite was not a factor in the team losing him to the Mets.
