Juan Williams Proposes True Reason Kamala Isn't Running for Governor

Kamala Harris Decides Against California Governor Run

Juan Williams suggested on Fox News Wednesday that former Vice President Kamala Harris’ choice not to run for California governor may be linked to disappointing internal polling data.

Harris’s announcement came after speculation about her political future, including a potential bid for the 2028 presidency. During an appearance on “Special Report with Bret Baier,” Williams indicated that these internal vote counts influenced her decision.

“She noticed those internal numbers and realized that, despite her presidential campaign, she didn’t have strong backing for the governor’s race,” he said.

He also noted rising discontent among Democrats.

“You don’t often hear people on the ground expressing a desire for her to return anytime soon. The broader issue for Harris and the Democrats is a need for effective leadership,” Williams observed. “They’re searching for a clear message.”

Williams hinted that Harris might be eyeing a run in 2028.

“That could be where this is headed,” he mentioned to host Brett Baier.

Following her loss in the 2024 presidential election, Harris reportedly told her staff that she wanted to keep her options open for future political endeavors. As she contemplated her strategy, her team worked on a narrative that would resonate, particularly in targeting President Trump and solidifying her standing in the Democratic Party.

Williams also pointed out voting trends suggesting a challenging outlook for Republicans in the upcoming midterm elections, predicting considerable setbacks.

“As we mentioned, the constituents are all aligned in their frustration. But now, I think we’re witnessing a sense of urgency among Republicans,” he stated. Pollster Tony Fabrizio observed that collaborating with Trump poses challenges, especially given the historical trend of the party in power typically losing seats in midterms.

Williams predicted that future elections could lead to significant shifts in Congress.

“That’s what we’re anticipating now. Discussions are surfacing about Democrats gaining five or more seats,” he noted.

Meanwhile, House Speaker Mike Johnson expressed strong confidence on CNN that Republicans will defy historical patterns and increase their majority in the House during the upcoming midterms. Johnson remains optimistic about the GOP’s prospects, despite the usual trend of the sitting president’s party losing seats in their first midterm.
