Judge denies bail for Sean Combs

Hip-hop star Sean “Diddy” Combs remains in federal prison Until the trial A judge found him guilty Tuesday of conspiracy to fraud and sex trafficking charges.

Prosecutors argued in Manhattan court that Combs should remain in custody, saying he was a flight risk and posed a “significant risk” of obstructing justice.

“There is no condition, or combination of conditions, that will ensure the defendant's appearance in court, the safety of others and the community, and the integrity of the trial,” the prosecutor said. I wrote in a letter Tuesday.

According to court documents, Combs was indicted on three criminal counts of transportation for the purposes of prostitution, organized criminal conspiracy and sex trafficking. Combs has pleaded not guilty to the organized criminal conspiracy and sex trafficking charges.

According to the indictment, Combs controlled a vast criminal enterprise that relied on the influence of his employees and his business empire.

The indictment, which includes charges dating back to 2008, alleges that Combs “abuses, threatens and coerces women and others in order to gratify his own sexual desires, protect his reputation and conceal his conduct.”

The documents detailed graphic abuse by Combs, who kicked, punched and threw objects at the victim.

Combs' attorney, Mark Anifilo, released a statement after the music mogul was taken into custody.

“We are disappointed in the U.S. Attorney's Office's decision to wrongfully prosecute Mr. Combs,” Anifilo wrote. “Sean Diddy Combs is a music icon, a self-made entrepreneur, a family man, and a proven philanthropist who has built an empire over the past three decades, loves children, and strives to uplift the Black community.”
