Judge dismisses Michael Wolff's lawsuit against Melania Trump as 'twisted'.

Melania Trump Addresses Epstein Allegations

Melania Trump has denied any affair with Jeffrey Epstein, decrying the “shameful lies” surrounding the accusations. Her senior adviser, Mark Beckman, is advocating for Congressional hearings to address the legacy of Epstein’s victims. This statement serves to challenge ongoing falsehoods and to underscore her support for initiatives like the Take It Down Act.

A federal judge recently dismissed journalist Michael Wolff’s lawsuit against Melania Trump, criticizing it as a “distorted” approach that doesn’t align with proper court proceedings. Wolff had sought to shield himself from a potential $1 billion lawsuit from the Trumps in response to his comments relating to Epstein.

The judge, Mary Kay Viscocil, noted that both parties engaged in “inappropriate maneuvering.” While she recognized their “real conflicts,” she expressed reluctance to get involved in what she saw as abusive disputes.

In a letter sent to Wolff last year, the First Lady’s legal team urged him to retract his remarks about her, warning of possible legal action if he failed to comply. Following this, Wolff initiated a lawsuit in state court last October. However, the case was eventually moved to federal court, where Viscocil concluded that despite jurisdiction, she chose to dismiss it “like any other case.”

In a related statement, Melania Trump’s press secretary affirmed her commitment to confronting individuals spreading false claims for personal gain. The lawyers representing the First Lady argued that Wolff’s comments inflicted significant reputational and financial damage on her. Melania Trump has adamantly denied any association with Epstein, who passed away in 2019 while awaiting trial on serious charges.

“The lies linking me to the disgraced Jeffrey Epstein need to end today,” Melania stated in a press conference. She expressed disdain for those attacking her reputation, criticizing the lack of ethics and respect among her detractors.

Wolff’s lawsuit accuses the Trumps of using legal threats to silence opposition and intimidate critics, stating that some of his remarks about their marriage were fair commentary. He asserted that he never implied the First Lady was involved in any criminal activities concerning Epstein.

Last summer, the Daily Beast retracted an article claiming Melania was significantly involved in the Epstein scandal, following a cease-and-desist letter from her attorney. In the controversial interview that inspired the article, Wolff relayed that Melania indicated she was managing the situation from the White House but remained uninvolved in any illegal conduct. Wolff is well-known for his books on the Trump presidency, including “Fire and Fury” and “The Siege.”
