Judge Judy blames woke DAs for ‘ruined’ cities

Judy Sheindlin, a former judge and longtime TV host, explained why so many people were fleeing a woke city that had become dangerous for ordinary families.

Sheindlin was a Manhattan Family Court judge who appeared on the TV show “Judge Judy” from 1996 to 2021, eventually launching her own production of a similar show called “Judy Justice.”

The judge recently gave an interview in which he pinpointed the causes of the rapid decline of some of America’s largest cities.

“Well, I know how it happened,” Sheindlin began. “A small number of very loud voices have created a scenario in which bad guys get rewarded, and victims get punished by the system,” she said. Fox News.

“When society began to justify bad behavior and react to criminal behavior based on that justification, society fell apart,” she said.

“There is absolutely no excuse for bad behaviour,” the 81-year-old said, although some jurisdictions allow for social excuses and reduce penalties for criminal behaviour.

“We had a district attorney who didn’t know what his job was, and the city was in ruins and people were leaving.”

“If you’re killed by an 18-year-old, you’re just as dead, and if you’re 17, you’re just as dead,” she continued. The judge said 17-year-olds convicted of violent crimes should not be placed in the same facility as 12-year-olds simply because they’re minors.

Sheindlin pointed to big cities like New York as an example of where excuses have become law.

“In New York state, for example, a very small number of people have pushed through increased levels of criminal liability. It’s ridiculous. You have a family, and your 65-year-old mother is walking to the grocery store, and some crazy person hits her over the head with a steel pipe for no reason, and kills her. They’re only 17 years old. That person should never be allowed to walk the streets again.”

“Society can’t take the risk. I wouldn’t risk having them live next door to me. Why should I risk having them live next door to you?”

The judge was born in Brooklyn, New York, and became a lawyer at age 23. In 1972, he became a prosecutor in New York’s Family Court. biography She reported prosecuting juvenile crimes, domestic violence and child abuse cases.

“You’d better get smart before you get lost forever.”

In a recent interview, Sheindlin accused the district attorney of not doing his job and destroying the city as a result.

“It’s the job of a prosecuting district attorney to not only deliver justice, but to keep the community safe. If we have elected district attorneys who don’t know what their job is, they should find another job.”

“Pack some ice cream cones somewhere, but don’t destroy the city,” she added. “What happened in New York, Portland and San Francisco is they had district attorneys who didn’t know what their job was, and the city got destroyed and the people left.”

“You’d better get smart before you get lost forever.”

Sheindlin has commented on several high-profile incidents in recent years, even speaking out against cancel culture in 2021.

“You’re afraid to speak your mind, afraid to get put on someone’s list and canceled. … It’s a scary place for America.”
