Recent court documents show that on Thursday, a request for an immediate restraining order against Rep. Corey Mills was declined. Mills, a Republican from Florida, faced the motion after Lindsay Langston, who was crowned US Miss 2024, filed for an injunction earlier in the week through her attorney, Anthony Sabatini. Langston claimed she had been threatened with the release of explicit photos and videos by Mills.
According to the sheriff’s national incident report, Langston had informed law enforcement about these threats last month. While she was reportedly interviewed by Florida law enforcement, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) confirmed they received the incident reports but have not provided comments on ongoing investigations.
Mills responded to the allegations, insisting they are “false” and that the accusations misrepresent their interactions. He expressed his belief that the judge’s refusal to grant the order indicates a lack of evidence supporting the claims made against him.
The Circuit Court for the Third Judicial District in Columbia County, Florida, decided not to issue a no-contact order but has scheduled another hearing to address the injunction request on August 21st. Mills stated that the court found no immediate danger of domestic violence, which played a role in the court’s deliberations.
Langston, 25, reported that she ended her relationship with Mills, 45, amid ongoing scrutiny following a separate investigation into a physical altercation involving Mills and another individual. She alleged that after their breakup, Mills repeatedly contacted her, threatening to release compromising recordings.
Mills, who previously faced off against Sabatini during the 2022 Republican primary, criticized his former opponent, suggesting that Sabatini is misusing the legal system for political gain. He further likened his predicament to that of President Trump, claiming both face unfounded politicized accusations.
“It’s tragic when a politician uses others for their agenda,” Mills remarked, urging that any allegations should not compromise real victims. He emphasized that the situation is unfortunate when personal rivalries play out in this manner.
