Judges Fine Trump Just Under $Half Billion in 2 Cases 

Two judges have fined former President Donald Trump just under $500 million in two separate cases.

The fine has once again rocked Washington, D.C., as Democrats seek to bankrupt Trump as he campaigns to oust President Joe Biden, who claims he has no involvement in the lawsuits or indictments against Trump. That hints at a move, but several prosecutors reportedly met with Biden administration officials before that happens. 3 of the indictments.

Between the two cases, Trump’s fines amount to more than $430 million.

In both cases, President Trump has said he plans to appeal the rulings.

On January 26, 2024, in New York, author E. Jean Carroll leaves federal court following the verdict in her defamation lawsuit against former President Donald Trump. Trump was ordered by a New York jury on Friday to pay Carroll $83 million in damages. She was publicly humiliated and called a liar after she claimed he sexually assaulted her. The jury reached its decision after deliberating for just under three hours. Lawsuit impacts Trump’s 2024 candidacy even if it is reversed on appeal, ABC News report:

Trump’s donors are paying for the majority of his campaign expenses, and his political committee has spent more than $50 million on his 2023 campaign, but the lawsuit alleges wealth and fame. This poses a more troubling challenge for Mr. Trump, who has built a Courts have allowed defendants multiple mechanisms to collect damages, including liens and wage garnishments, but fines cannot be waived by traditional protections like bankruptcy.

Legal experts interviewed by ABC News said President Trump is unlikely to pay the fine right away and may instead use a bond secured by his assets to delay payment until he exhausts his appeal options. He suggested that he would choose.
