Julia Garner Surprises Andy Cohen by Saying She Wants Thomas Ravenel to Return to 'Southern Charm'

Julia Garner Calls for Thomas Ravenel’s Return to Southern Charm

Julia Garner made headlines during the live episode of Watch What Happens Live on August 7. In a surprising twist, she urged Bravo to bring back Thomas Ravenel from Southern Charm.

During the show, Garner expressed her wish for the return of not just Ravenel, but also the original cast of The Real Housewives of New York City, emphasizing an immediate revival. She even suggested a spinoff for psychic Allison Dubois, who had previously predicted a split between Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umanski on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. But it was her plea for Ravenel that raised eyebrows.

Ravenel was a significant figure in the early seasons of Southern Charm. He had a noteworthy romance with 21-year-old Catherine Dennis, with whom he shares two children, Kensington “Kenzie” and St. Julian. Their tumultuous relationship played out on-screen, revealing both their romantic struggles and co-parenting dynamics.

Despite his earlier popularity, Ravenel’s journey took a dramatic turn. He was dismissed from the show ahead of its sixth season after facing allegations of sexual assault related to his former nanny. He later pleaded guilty to third-degree assault and battery, resulting in a 30-day prison sentence that was ultimately commuted to probation and a fine of $500. The case concluded with a $125,000 settlement between him and the nanny.

Interestingly, Garner isn’t the only one interested in Ravenel’s potential return. Madison LeCroy, a star from the show, recently addressed rumors suggesting he might make a comeback before the tenth season ended in April. “I haven’t heard anything about it,” she said, adding that it could be beneficial for their dynamics.

At Bravocon 2022, Patricia Altschul echoed similar sentiments. She mentioned that she would welcome Ravenel back. Altschul recalled a recent encounter with him, noting his charm and interest in rejoining the show, stating, “I think he’s changed.”

But where is Ravenel in all of this? In February, he announced his intentions to run for governor of South Carolina as a Republican, only to withdraw just four days later to focus on raising his children.

New episodes of Watch What Happens Live air on Bravo from Sunday to Thursday at 10 PM, with next-day streaming available on Peacock.
